Here is a video of John Tortella, coach of the New York Rangers, hurling a water bottle at a fan of the opposing team (in this case the Washington Capitals). He then goes batsh!t with a hockey stick.
Model behavior.
He was later suspended for the first-round playoff series by the NHL.

Forum on out gay athlete in pro sports
There is quite an interesting post on worldhaveyoursay.wordpress.com where they've asked the question, "Why are there so few openly gay sports stars?"
I'm sure we all have our opinions, but here is a chance to read what others have said and have your own say, as well.

Think a gay sports magazine has no place?
This is the editor's letter from the current issue of Compete Magazine.
Buddy Early breaks it down for those who think they would be completely uninterested in reading a gay sports magazine.
Even though we are constantly hearing from our readers how much they appreciate Compete Magazine, it can be a hard sell for some who still don’t understand the scope of what we do.
There are those who do not play sports who think that our content will not appeal to them. Then there are those who don’t follow sports who think they won’t understand what they are reading. And then, of course, there are those who have never picked up an issue who exclaim “Why is there a need for a gay sports magazine?”
Well, to all those people I say: look closer.
This issue is a perfect example of the possibilities that exist in our gay sports community. You’ll find an interview with former professional basketball player and trailblazer John Amaechi; you can read about a lesbian’s one-night stand with her local roller derby league; you might learn about how gay cowboys have turned their love for rodeo into a terrific social opportunity; and you can get inside the head of author E. Lynn Harris, whose latest book centers around a closeted pro athlete.
I really do believe this is a magazine for everyone in our community. I like to tell people about one of our loyal readers – a local female impersonator who reads and loves every issue. She doesn’t play sports, and she couldn’t tell a field goal from a free throw, but she recognizes the value of Compete, and never hesitates to tell me so. She is the perfect example of someone who might not consider themselves a target demographic for us … at first.
Like her, I invite any skeptical readers to look closer.

More Swimsuit Issue Planning
Today a few of us spent some time pulling suits and deciding who is going to wear what and the Seattle weather and what not.
We've been pretty excited about this year's issue (as we are every year), but laying things out really gets us into the mindset of what a great shoot we're expecting to have this year.
Buddy (our editor) and Josh (from marketing) will be in Seattle this weekend, keep and eye out for them in Seattle.

Breaking News! Apolgy from UFC's Dana White
You may have heard of the controversy when Dana White referred to someone associated with a fighter as a faggot. As some may be familiar with the use of this word to refer to a coward, we certainly don't like to hear it used in such a vitriolic manner.
Our friend Ted Rybka at GLAAD did speak with Dana White, yesterday, and received an apology. We are very happy to hear that Mr. White is clearly aware of the negative effects this type of speech has on people within our community.
Meanwhile, the rest of us will enjoy these photos of openly gay MMA fighter, Shad Smith.

Gay Couple in Sports Bar
This special first aired on ABE news. It took actors into a straight sports bar to get the reactions of the patrons to a gay couple in their midst. Surprisingly, the video really conjures up strong emotion, especially if you've been in a situation like this before.
